• VRE's $155 Million Manassas Line Acquisition Set to Boost Regional Rail Service

  Virginia Railway Express has secured $155 million in funding to purchase its Manassas Line from Norfolk Southern, gaining control of 24 miles of track and a site for a new midday train storage facility. The deal, finalized by VRE’s parent agencies, is part of a larger $599 million agreement with Norfolk Southern and is expected to enhance current operations and future service expansion. (Trains)
