Sprinkler System Credited for Containing Mason Creek Circle Townhouse Fire
A fire broke out Thursday afternoon at a set of stacked townhomes on Mason Creek Circle in Woodbridge. The blaze, which extended from the ground floor to the attic, was quickly contained thanks to an exterior sprinkler system. No injuries were reported, but two of the homes were deemed unsafe to occupy. Three adults and one child were displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. Fire officials traced the cause of the incident to an electrical malfunction in the home’s exterior electric meter. Authorities credited the sprinkler system with preventing more severe damage and reducing the risk to nearby homes. (Patch)
Pickup Truck Struck by Amtrak Train in Morning Crash Near Nokesville
A pickup truck driver was hospitalized after being hit by an Amtrak train in Prince William County on the morning of April 15, 2025. The collision occurred on Bristow Road shortly after the train left Manassas Station. Emergency crews freed the trapped driver and transported them for medical care. No injuries were reported on the train. The affected stretch of Bristow Road remains closed during the investigation. (WJLA)
