Education and Industry Unite to Aid Displaced Federal Workers in Greater Washington
In response to sweeping federal layoffs, the Greater Washington Partnership has launched a job board featuring over 6,000 listings from major employers in the region. Local institutions such as Northern Virginia Community College, University of Maryland, and George Washington University are also offering free or discounted educational programs to help displaced workers reskill. As layoffs continue to ripple through the region, economic projections suggest a severe impact, including potential unemployment for tens of thousands and billions in lost income and output.
