  • County To Reimburse Millions After Route 28 Bypass Project Halted

    Prince William County will repay over $7.4 million to the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority after canceling the Route 28 bypass project. The county ended the project due to rising costs and concerns over residential displacement.   • Boxes of Basics and I-66 EMP Team Up to Support Thousands of Local Children

    Boxes of Basics, a nonprofit based in Manassas, has significantly expanded its efforts to provide clothing to schoolchildren across Northern Virginia. In 2024, the group distributed over 2,100 boxes of clothing and essentials, supported by nearly 1,500 volunteers. The organization also diverted more than 29,000 pounds of clothing from landfills. Longtime supporter I-66 Express Mobility Partners continues to back the nonprofit with sponsorships, clothing drives, and volunteer hours. With a new warehouse and plans to grow into Fauquier County, Boxes of Basics is strengthening its impact on local youth and the environment. (PW Living)
